Suite refurbishment Norfolk
Here we have a 3 seater sofa and a 2 seater sofa.

Clearly these Norfolk sofa seat and back cushions are extremely flat and aren’t providing much support when sitting on the sofa.
Similarly they have suffered severely from colour loss due to not being looked after properly and being exposed to the Norfolk sun.
The Norfolk sofa cushions are loose cushions. This means they are easier to access.
Therefore the technician will just pick up each cushion, undo the zip at the back and stuff them by hand using a special technique in order to fill the seat cushions up as much as they can be but in all the right places.
This is done one cushion at a time until all of the cushions are filled.
Sometimes the cushions can look very big in comparison to what they were before, this is because they are completely full.
Once the customer begins to use the sofas the cushions will settle and they will return to the shape they are supposed to be but the fullness feeling will remain making them much more comfortable to sit on.
This will also provide a great deal of support.

Sometimes customers may feel as though their seat cushions are not that bad and typically tend to assume that the sofa springs are the issue. More often than not this is not the case. Your seat base cushions are the support, their job is to hold the weight of the person sitting on them. Over time they condense and as a result it puts a strain on everything under the cushion for example the springs, or webbing, or even the actual frame.
Allowing your seat cushions to get so low can cause further structural issues.
The Norfolk suite is not yet fully refurbished as it still has significant colour loss.
In order to bring the sofa completely back to life the technician underwent a full clean and colour restoration.
Firstly the sofa is cleaned. This is done using leather cleaner and a lint free cloth.
After the Norfolk suite has been cleaned the technician begins to prep the sofas.
This is done using leather prep and a lint free cloth.
This removes the manufacturers coating from the sofa. Similarly it removes all of the dirt and debris from the Norfolk sofas. Next the technician matches the colour of the sofa.
Specifically this sofa is known as a two tone sofa, this means that the sofa has multiple shades of colour on it to give it a two tone effect.
In order to get this effect the technician matches the lightest colour on the sofa, they then apply a base coat using a lint free cloth to rub the colour over the leather in small circular motions.
Once a base coat is applied they will use an air brush to spray the chair. They apply thin evenly spread layers of colour.
After the dye has been applied the technician will dry the chair using a hairdryer.
The technician will then match the darker shade of colour and spray lightly over sofa using a technique to apply the dye in an uneven pattern so that there’s only noticeably small areas of the colour in various areas.
Again this will be dried using a hair dryer.
Now the technician can apply the final layer of lacquer.
After Completion

Lastly the technician applies the lacquer. This is used to seal the restoration. All of our products are water based except for the lacquer. Therefore the sofas need to be left in order for all of the products to have enough time to cure.
Now that the Norfolk suite refurbishment is completed the sofas need to be left for a couple of hours in order to dry. Then it is touch dry should the customer wish to touch it. Although this is not recommended. The sofas should be left for 48 hours as a minimum until it is used but this depends on how much colour is applied.
