Our Leather Repairs Kent technician arrived at the customers home. Immediately upon arrival the technician set up equipment. The technician then begins cleaning the sofa. To clean with a brush and leather cleaner ensures that all dirt is removed from the crevices of the sofa. Once scrubbed all dirt is rubbed away with a cloth. Once fully cleaned colour can then be applied.
First a base coat is applied using a lint free cloth to apply a even spread coat of the dye. Then the technician uses an air compressor to apply colour to the sofa. This to restore all the areas where there may be colour loss. By doing this the technician applies evenly spread layers of colour to ensure there are no patches. Once this is completed a final coat of lacquer can be sprayed onto the sofa.
Once completed the sofa needs to be left for at least 1 hour until it is dry enough to touch. This is if the customer wishes to have a closer look at the repair however we do not recommend it. The sofa should then not be used for approximately 48 hours. This depending on how much colour and filler is applied during the repair and on how much damage there was.
We advise that all leather is cleaned and protected every six months. This allows the leather to stay clean and fresh. The protection cream gives that extra barrier between the wear and tear and the sofa.
Cleaning kits are always recommended after every repair. This to help enable you to maintain your leather from future damage. Please feel free to ask any questions they are happy to give you help and guidance that you may require.
We offer a yearly maintenance plan for all customers that have had our full restoration service. This is where you get a reduced fixed price for us to visit every year.
