This brown two seater sofa has colour loss on its seat cushions. The images above show the sofa before the restoration took place. The technician begins the restoration process by cleaning the area. This is done using leather cleaner on a lint free cloth to remove any dirt on the seats. Once this has been done the technician preps the area. Again this is done using a lint free cloth. However this is done using leather prep. This is to remove the manufacturers coating and any pesticides on the leather sofa cushions. Once this has been done the technician sands down the areas that have the colour loss. Ensuring that it is all smooth and there are no rough or raised areas where there is peeling.
After all areas are smooth the technician uses a lint free cloth and leather dye to apply a base coat to the damaged area. Once this is done the technician uses the air brush to apply thin evenly spread costs of colour. This is applied to the leather sofa cushions to restore the sofa. The technician then applies the final layer onto the repaired area, this is of the lacquer which is used to seal the repair. After the repair has been completed the area needs to be left for at least 1 hour. Until it is dry enough to touch if the customer wishes to have a closer look at the repair. However we do not recommend it if you can help it. The area should then not be used for approximately 48 hours. Depending on how much colour is applied.
On going maintenance
We advise that all leather is cleaned and protected every six months this allows the leather to stay clean and fresh and the protection cream gives that extra barrier between the wear and tear and the sofa.

We offer a yearly maintenance plan for all customers that have had our full restoration service this is where you get a reduced fixed price for us to visit every year to undertake a full clean and minor repairs for the price of our standard clean package.
