This brown corner sofa was suffering from sever colour loss. It also had large amounts of cracking. Firstly our leather repairs technician began by cleaning the sofa. This is done using leather cleaner and a lint free cloth. Secondly the technician applies leather prep. Similarly they use a lint free cloth for this too. It is used to remove the manufacturers coating on the sofa. Once the sofa is cleaned and prepped the technician applies colour. First this is done using a lint free cloth and leather dye. This is done in circular motions. It’s a base coat on the leather. Next the technician applies leather dye using the air compressor. Thin coats are applied. After this they are dried with a hairdryer.
Finally the technician then applies the final layer onto the repaired area, this is of the lacquer which is used to seal the repair. After the brown corner sofa has been completed it needs to be left for at least 1 hour until it is dry enough to touch if the customer wishes to have a closer look however we do not recommend it if you can help it. The sofa should then not be used for approximately 48 hours depending on how much colour and filler is applied during the process and on how much damage there was to repair.
On going maintenance
We advise that all leather is cleaned and protected every six months this allows the leather to stay clean and fresh and the protection cream gives that extra barrier between the wear and tear and the sofa.

We offer a yearly maintenance plan for all customers that have had our full restoration service. This is where you get a reduced fixed price for us to visit every year to undertake a full clean and minor repairs for the price of our standard clean package.
