Range Rover Panel Repairs

This Range Rover panel had a slight scuff on it. The customer knew it was small. However it irritated him to look at it and why should you have to? Firstly the leather repairs technician began by cleaning the area. This is completed using leather cleaner and a lint free cloth. Secondly the technician uses leather prep to remove the manufacturers coating from the panel. Next the technician uses 320 grit sandpaper to remove the raised areas from the scuff. Now there is just holes from where the leather has been removed. This is filled using texture paste.

Next the technician uses a sponge to apply the colour. This is done to ensure no overspray is left on the car and that the colour is applied in a grain. Once colour is applied it is dried using a hairdryer. After this is done and the filler has been built up enough and the technician is happy they move on. They then apply a coat of lacquer this is done to seal and protect the repair.

On going maintenance
