This grey sofa was suffering from body perspiration, it had colour loss on its seat cushions and the arms of the sofa. If the customer decided to do Grey Sofa Leather Restoration Services first then the whole sofa cleaned and colour restored in order to catch any other areas where body perspiration was affecting the leather.

The technician starts off by cleaning the leather. They do this by using a leather cleaner and a scrubbing brush. After scrubbing they use a lint-free cloth, this is to wipe away any first brought out of the sofas crevices. Once the sofa has been fully cleaned the technician moves on to prepping the sofa. He does this using leather prep and another’s lint-free cloth to remove the manufacturer’s cost on the sofa and any pesticides on it.

Leather Restoration Of The Grey Sofa:

The technician begins the restoration process on the grey sofa by applying a base coat to the leather. This is done using a lint-free cloth and leather dye. Once a base coat has been applied the technician moves on to applying evenly spread coats of dye using an airbrush. After each layer of dye is applied to the leather the technician dries them with a hairdryer. Once enough layers of leather dye have been applied to the sofa to restore the colour the technician moves on. Finally, they apply a coat of lacquer to seal the leather colour restoration of the grey sofa.

Once completed the area needs to be left for at least 1 hour until it is dry enough to touch. This is if the customer wishes to have a closer look at the repair however we do not recommend it. The area should then not be used for approximately 48 hours. This depends on how much colour and filler are applied during the repair and on how much damage there was.

We advise that all leather is cleaned and protected every six months. This allows the leather to stay clean and fresh. The protection cream gives that extra barrier between the wear and tear and the sofa.
