Our technician arrived at the customers home. Immediately upon arrival the technician sets up the equipment. Then the technician begins to clean the colour loss areas. They start by using leather cleaner and a lint free cloth to clean over the sofa pulling out any dirt. Then they start to prep the sofa using leather prep and another lint free cloth to remove the manufacturers coating and any pesticides on the leather.
Now this has been completed the technician uses 400 grit sandpaper to sand down the colour loss area of the sofa in which there is peeling. This is to ensure the sofa is smooth and there is no raised leather.
Once this is done the technician then moves on to applying colour to the sofa. First the technician applies a base coat of colour to the areas using a lint free cloth. After this the technician begins to use the air brush to apply evenly spread coats of colour to the areas of colour loss. Once enough layers of colour have been built up the technician applies the final coat of lacquer to seal of the restoration. All products used are water based except the final cost of lacquer this is why it is important not to use the sofa straight away once the restoration has been completed.
Once completed the sofa needs to be left for at least 1 hour until it is dry enough to touch. This is if the customer wishes to have a closer look at the repair however we do not recommend it. The sofa should then not be used for approximately 48 hours. This depending on how much colour and filler is applied during the repair and on how much damage there was.
We advise that all leather is cleaned and protected every six months. This allows the leather to stay clean and fresh. The protection cream gives that extra barrier between the wear and tear and the sofa.

We offer a yearly maintenance plan for all customers that have had our full restoration service. This is where you get a reduced fixed price for us to visit every year to undertake a full clean and minor repairs for the price of our standard clean package.
