This old Ferrari car had a full clean and colour restoration of its chairs to restore the leather. Our technician undertook the job beginning by cleaning the leather. However is done using a lint free cloth and leather cleaner. After all the areas have been cleaned the technician can move on. The technician uses leather prep on another lint free cloth to prepare the leather. Also this removes the manufacturers seal and any pesticides on the leather.
Once the leather has been cleaned and prepped the technician begins to add colour to the seats. Firstly this is done by applying a base coat using dye on a lint free cloth. It applies an under coat to the leather so that the colour is applied to all aspects of the seat. Next colour is applied using leather dye and an air brush. This is powered by a compressor. Evenly spread layers of dye are applied to the leather and each one is dried using a hair dryer.
After all of the leather has dye evenly applied to it the technician applies something different. Finally the a layer of lacquer is applied to seal the restoration on the seats of the leather.
On going maintenance
We advise that all leather is cleaned and protected every six months this allows the leather to stay clean and fresh and the protection cream gives that extra barrier between the wear and tear and the sofa.
Cleaning kits are always recommended after every repair to help enable you to maintain your leather from future damage, please feel free to ask our technician any questions where they will be happy to give you any help and guidance that you require.
